Education lies at the heart of sustainability. During DTF 2025, students from Kulleġġ Santa Margerita were invited to experience the conference first-hand — discovering how innovation, technology, and collaboration are shaping the future of Malta’s maritime industry.

As part of this year’s commitment to promoting knowledge and awareness, DTF introduced a dedicated educational section in collaboration with MaritimeMT — designed to inspire curiosity, learning, and leadership among young people interested in the maritime and energy sectors.

The students had the opportunity to explore the Decarbonising the Future Expo, meet with industry professionals, and witness live demonstrations showcasing sustainable port operations and onshore power technology.

By engaging with engineers, project leaders, and sustainability experts, students gained valuable insights into how Malta is leading by example in the decarbonisation of maritime transport — and how innovation today will define the cleaner ports of tomorrow.
